A bright Ocnoceber

I hade also some shorter walk by Årstaviken. Helped my neighbors with some Chinese excercises. Watched theater of "Anna Karenina", "Antigone" and "Because I'm worth it".  I have published 17 posts in my WeChat public account 坦然怡人 during Ocnoceber.  

November is the month many Swedes prefer to delete from the calendar, because the days are usually grey and short. I think I have had a bright Ocnoceber.

Tormorrow I am going to walk around the island of Långholmen. There I will wave my hands to Stockholm City hall on the other side of the lake Mälaren. :-)

More open

The public is invited to free guided tours of the city's most unique and exciting buildnings and places when the Open House International Festival for the second consecutive year comes to Stockholm 6-8 October 2017. The festival aims to involve the public in the city's development and stimulate the interest in architecture and community building. I visited OpenLab during last year's Open House. Very interesting. Openlab creates opportunities to make Stockholm a global centre for social innovation and improve the quality of life for its residents.  

Yesterday I saw a challenge named "How do we keep healthy longer as we grow older", and submitted my idea named "Learn the simple Chinese exercises that strengthen the immune system". 

I started my public account "坦然怡人" on WeChat some weeks ago. I am trying to live up to my full potential, and to inspire others to do so. I also see my pictures and texts as a window of Sweden for Chinese. 

Swedes are innovative. If the innovative Swedes are willing to learn the best from China, they get the best of two worlds. I hope I can help more people to live healthily, happier and longer :-)

First walk around Lake Flaten

Last Sunday I took a walk around Lake Flaten in south Stockholm. I have visited the popular beach Flatenbadet several times before, but this was the first time for a walk around the lake. When I looked at the area on the map, I was sure that I would walk around the lake many times. 

I think Lake Flaten looks like a sibling to Lake Ältasjön. Flaten is ca 6 km perimeter, with direct access with bus 401 or bus 816, a beautiful lake in the forest. The name is also used for the surrounding nature reserve.

Flaten has the best water quality out of all lakes around Stockholm (Sandasjön belongs to Nacka). If you begin your walk from the beach counter-clockwise , a short while after passing by the allotment-gardens, you can walk through the long bridge and have a look at the treatment pool in the north-west corner of the lake. 

Next time I will walk around Flaten clockwise for a different view, maybe have a jar for lingonberry. There are mushrooms in the forest, but I remember for safety not to pick up any mushrooms except chanterelle. :-)

A walk around Ältasjön

Yesterday after breakfast I opened the map online to see where I would have a walk. I like to walk by water, there are a lot of coast and lake in and around Stockholm, so it is not difficult to find a new place. Lake Ältasjön seems like a good option, ca 7 km perimeter, near bus-stops. 

Bus 401 from Slussen, stop Ormbunkesvägen. On the way to the lake I enjoyed sightseeing of beautiful townhouses and diverse houses. When I took picture of a modern house by the lake there came two sweet girls to me. We had a very pleasant chat, both girls are eight-years-old, go to school by bicycle or on foot. Then came two children from the modern house to me and presented themselves and let me know their nice home have three floors. I like this peaceful place and such lovely children. 

The walk around the lake was as fun as usual. I could see that nice house from the other side, I saw some mushrooms , some bicycles and some sheeps in the forest, stepped on a couple of bridges, and went through a couple of longer bridges. One of the longer bridges helps the passengers over the lake instead of the motor-road, cool.

When you visit Stockholm, a walk around Lake Ältasjön is maybe a option for a sightseeing of Swedish local beauty. You will see many new and old houses, a few people in the forest, the lake with islands, some beaches, a sports field including a parkour park. :-)

Z12. Slå skuldbladen

Jag har läst på kinesiska om en enkel övning som kan lindra ont i axel, har övat det i ett par veckor. Det känns bra, så jag vill dela med mig denna mycket enkla övning. Genom att regelbundet öva det kan man förebygga cervikal spondylos.

Lyft upp höger hand och slå vänstra skulderbladet bakifrån 100 gånger.  Lyft upp vänster hand och slå högra skulderbladet bakifrån 100 gånger.

Om din höger/vänster hand inte når vänstra/högra skulderbladet bakifrån, kan du börja med att slå framifrån. :-)

The point

My mother showed me a Chinese treatment method she learned recently.  For my mouse shoulder (musarm,  Repetitive strain injury) she found a point on my upper back which caused most pain when pressed. She kept on pressing that point until the pain went away. Felt good.

A couple of days later I met my neighbour Ann-Marie in the laundry room. The lovely lady seemed not comfortable with her back as she could not have her back straight. She had worked too hard on grassclipping. We are good friends so she let me try my new learnt skill. I used my left hand to keep her stable, and used a knuckle of my right hand to find the point by her spine. I kept pressing that point until the pain released. She could stand straight directly. Magic.

Åbo/Turku first visit

Why Åbo? For River Aura. 

The journey on the cruise boat from Stockholm was nice, but the arrival time at Åbo/Turku was a early 7 am. Bus No. 1 goes from the harbour to the city center. Luckily I found Fazer Café (at Auragatan 10) by Salutorget. Thanks for a very good breakfast in a comfortable and pleasant place.

The River Aura is the heart and soul of the city. Naturally we strolled along the river and were glad to see many interesting places and status. When the path on the eastside of the river was not accessible after ca 300 meter from the Cathedral we decided to visit Åbo univerity. I found a two nice hammocks in a little park in the university area for my mother and my friend for a sweet catnap :-)

Lyckily again we arrived the restaurant Tårget (at Linnankatu 3 A) before 3 pm and could enjoy a nice lunch buffet in a beautiful and pleasant place by the river. 

We followed the river back to the harbour without missing a 5-minutes return tour on the free city ferry Föri. The little orange ferry runs nonstop back and forth across the Aura River approximately 500 metres after the last bridge heading toward the mouth of th river.

A future reunion

How could I let a piece of most valued paper drop into the sea, for a later search. My brain seemed empty. Thanks Tal-Ben Shahar, we allow ourselves to be human-being.

Everything has a reason. Probably no result on searching my lost treasure before I can treat it really well. Better to prepare myself. God bless Marta. God show me the time. Thanks Marta! See you later or soon.

Bryssel Luxembourg Strasbourg Zurich first vist

  1. My friend Gunter recommended Strasbourg to me efter my Berlin-weekend.
  2. Strasbourg oldtown is very beautiful and small. It suits my mother. 
  3. I booked the best hotel in Strasbourg with free cancellation via booking.com.
  4. I checked the flight. No convenient direct flight.
  5. I checked other flight alternatives, also the hotel options.
  6. I bought the morning flight to Bryssel and evening flight back from Zurich.
  7. I refined the dates of hotel-bookings. Communicated the best hotel for best experience.

My mother and I flew from Stockolm to Bryssel, two nights, train to Luxembourg, one night, train to Strasbourg, four nights. train to Zurich, two nights, flight back to Stockholm. Bryssel and Luxembourg are like the starts (soup and salad), Strasbourg with Regent Petite France the main course, and Zurich the dessert. :-)

  • Bryssel - visit The Grand Place both during the day and in the evening.
  • Luxembourg - take the Touristic train "Pétrusse Express". 
  • Strasbourg - take tram D to Port du Rhin, walk over the beautiful bridge. On the way back, walk over the even more beautiful bridge "Passerelle des Deux Rives".
  • Zurich -  the Golden Round Trip. The lake, the river. 

I visited these places in my mother's conditions. The last days I treated myself a little. Took a walk round about "Large island"(the old town) in the evening. Swam in the Lake Zurich and in Lake Lucerne. 

I will and believe I see the brave young lady Marta from Spain again. She was in a green dress and helped a panicking person in Lake Zurich. She is welcome to me whenever she like. I wish to treat her a nice trip in the future.

Thanks for sharing

I got a message from my friend Chee. "I need to share this with you. I am making a trip in Scotland and England. Now in beautiful Whitby. Yesterday I watched a man, 70 years old, making this drawing in the sand. He loved them both. Lily and June. Amazing crazy but beautiful would."

"Thanks! I love this old man. I love you", I said in my heart.

I replied to her, "Thanks so much for sharing such a beautiful moment. Love is great. Love is life. Enjoy. Hugs. I am walking in my neighourhood, just took a couple of pictures. Wish you all the best. Good luck."

Today I showed this picture to a couple of friends. They love it. I am sure that some of you will have the similar feeling of mine when you see this lovely picure. Thanks Chee for sharing.

Karlstad first visit

On the way back from Oslo to Stockholm my mother and I stayed in Karlstad for 24 hours. Wonderful. I love beautiful and calm Karlstad.

We enjoyed free dinner of good qulity at Clarion Collection Hotel Drott which is located just opposite the train-station. Very convenient. Nice buildning and decoration, friendly staff.

We took a little evening walk in the city center. I let my mother take a shortcut while I went along Sandgrundsudden. After coming back to the hotel with her, I found The Old Stonebridge on the map and decided to visit it. The Old Stonebridge was closed currently but there are some other bridges nearby. I went through 8 bridges in one hour, and it was just before midnight. Very fun. 

Next day is for Karlstad by boat. We took the boat-bus 91 from Almentorget to Mariebergskogen (Karlstad's city park) through the city, took a mini-train tour in the park, visited Naturum, took a walk in the forest, picknicked, and took the boat-bus 94 back. You should be there. :-)

I like this beautiful place surrounded by clear water. I feel natur and kultur in this calm place. I saw the nice paths for walk and for bike, I saw the locals enjoyed the life. Next time I will bicycle in Karlstad. :-)

I like "Sola i Kallsta". The symbol of Karlstad, ever smiling, warm natured Eva-Lisa Holtz worked as a waitress in Karlstad in the 18th century. Her sunny disposition erned her the nickname "Sola i Kallsta" (The sun in Karlstad).

Oslo first visit

My mother wished to see Oslo, so last weekend we visited Oslo on her conditions. Very nice.

My mother wished to see grassland. The train trip from Stockholm to Oslo took 5 hours and supplied view of both forest and grassland. :-)

I like Oslo S (Central station), because it faces the sea front. I like our rum at Comfort Hotel Børsparken, because of the nice view over the Opera house.

I like the public transport. With our 24-hours tickets we enjoyed a ride of public ferry (from platform E) in Oslo fjord, tram 18 and 19 to Ekebergpark, tram 19 and 12 to Vigelandsparken. Very convenient, also an unexpected experience. We missed the direct tram 12 to Vigelandsparken, so we took the tram 19, as I saw the end station for tram 19 is also the end station for tram 12. We were going to exchange trams. At the end station the tram number changed from 19 to 12, so we did not need to exchange trams, the tram exchanged routes. An interesting surprise. 

I walked twice on the roof of the Opera house. I went half of Oslo's Harbour Promenade. 

My mother is very satisfied and excited about this short visit, especially the short walk in the forest in Ekebergparken. :-)

How not-so-rich live longer

Last week I visited a small BBQ party. I showed the guests my daily exercises. One friend said "Yes, I believe your exercises are very good.  I saw a TV-program, in which a doctor has studied how the rich live longer. It's proven that some special massage and treatments have effect on prolonging life. The super rich pay extremely much money for more livetime".

Well, I have not been thinking to live extremely long, I have always been thinking to be healthy when I am alive. 

Have you ever been sick? I have been sick though I do not get sick often. When I am healthy, I want to travel, to read, to do a lot of interesting things. When I was sick, I wanted only to be healthy. How about you?

My Promotion

Yesterday my colleague Ann came to me and said "You are really good at recruiting people. I heard when you spoke to Henrik.". "Thanks! I did it because it's good for him". "Well, I know that. But you are really really good at encouraging people. This compliment you should have," she smiled beautifully. I have encouraged some colleagues to take part in one of the best running events "Blodomloppet" - nice track with beautiful view, good atmosphere without stress, pleasant company of glad colleagues, free T-shirt and picknick. 

Over 20 years ago I sold a book - many examples of an excellent, exclusive and expensive illustrated encyclopedia. I loved the book, bought one to myself and one to my sister's daughter. Sold to my colleagues who have children, to a couple of my friends and their colleagues. One of my friend's boss bought the book. Next time when I visited my friend's office, the boss thanked me and then spoke aloud to his team "I want all of you to work as she did."

It is my nature to promote things which I believe is good for you/others. I am a simple person. I like life to be simple and enjoyable, though my son thinks I am sometimes naive. What do I promote now? I promote easy ways for better physical health and psychological health, easy ways to stronger physical immune system and psychological immune system. 

Traditional Chinese Medicine is about balance, I think. Some simple exercises can help our physical immune system to be stronger. If you search "Z1" or "Z2" or "Z3" etc in this blog you can see some popular exercises. If you understand Chinese, you can google "zhonglibaren".

Positive psychology is about balance, I think. Positive psychology is about strengthening our psychological immune system, making us more resilient. Like building a stronger motor so that we can better deal with hardships. Please search "1504" in this blog or google/YouTobe "Positive psychology 1504" and go Harvard's most popular course. 

Zhonglibaren is a master. He creats a bridge between TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and common people. Tal-ben Shahar is a master. He creats a bridge between the Ivory Tower and Main Street - translating the rigorous research conducted in universities into accessible material that most people can apply in their personal and professional lives.

Magelungen completed

I hiked along the southern part of Magelungen two days ago. I hiked along the northern part of Magelungen today. Magelunden completed. Amazing. :-)

When I left home the day for the first hike, I returned and fetched a pair of workgloves (protective gloves). Good to have, and I did have use of them when I climbed down a rock cliff ca 4 meters high. Later on the road I got that feeling - no feeling of time and space.

In today's hike I passed by some familiar places and some new places. Nice to find some new and better paths in my familiar areas. Later on the new area I got a feeling - feeling like my last part in Cinque Terre - long walk among the grass by the water. 

Yes, I love to walk by the sea, I like to walk by the water. I can do what I like when I like. What do you like to do? Things we like may have easier versions and different versions. Just do it. :-)

Good Energy

People have told me before that I am full of energy, that I am enthusiastic. 

Yesterday evening I participated in a very nice event at Brave Generation. Yes, I know that one thing that differs me from others is my energy. Yes, I have been aware of energy frequency, and I am on the way of raising my energy frequency level. Improve myself physically and mentally, and inspire others to improve.

Thanks Benjamas for a wonderful evening of inspiration, thanks for saying your impression of me was"Energetic. Enthusiastic. Playful".  

Thanks Nina for telling me spontaneously "You have energy, good energy". I am on the right way. Thank God. :-)

Drevviken completed

Drevviken completed. Yesterday I made the last (the fifth) segment of my Drevviken-roundabout. 16 km from Sjöviksvägen in Skogås to Fornuddsvägen. I was out late, the weather was perfect. No reason not to take advantage of the unique Swedish/Nordic evening with sunlight untill 10 pm. This segment has much less direct access to the lake than Drevviken-northside, but it did not decreased my joy as I always see the beauty in all I see. 

May I say I have got a relationship with Lake Drevviken? I have explored it internally and externally. For 15 months ago, I took the bus to Hökarängsbadet with my newly bought ice nails and ice sticks. The sky was grey. I asked two young guys if I they were going to skate the roundabout on the lake which is 20 km long, and if I would follow them. They were very friendly and let me follow. Thanks! It felt so good when we came to the southest part of the lake, we heard only the sound of skating on the big surface. They went on land near Skogås, then I had two options - go on land there, or go on skating alone the rest of the lake. Everybody should be careful even though the ice was safe, specially near Trångsund where there was open water. I chose to go on skating and promised to send them a message when I finished my trip. It was about 8 km skating without company on the almost empty lake. I said hello to a couple of skaters, waited near Trångsund and asked to follow a guy through the risk area. I fell a couple of times on the safe and wet ice but I was not sad for that. What a feeling when I finished? I made a 20-km roundabout the first time I visited Drevviken on ice. A big five to myself. :-)

Some months ago, I went a walk by Drevviken from Fornuddsvägen to Persuddevägen. Some weeks ago I did another walk by Drevviken from Strandkyrkogården to Persuddevägen. When I made a long Dreviken-walk from Strandkyrkogården till Hökarängsbadet on 1 May, I got an idea "before the end of this year I could make a Drevviken-roundabout by summing up my segments". Sounds good? just do it. Another long Drevviken-walk on 7 May, and another long Drevviken-walk on 27 May. Before the end of this month I have made the Drevviken-roundabout by summing up my segments. A big five to myself. :-) 

I did something I am proud of. Good or good? 

I do things I like to do, (things that do not have negative influence to my health and my future), I do things that I can be proud of. I become happier. Easy or easy?

I can do it. You can do it. Find things you like to do, (things that do not have negative influence to your health and your future), do it oftan and/or do it so well that you are proud of it. Easy to be happier? Just do it.  :-)
