La Palma first visit

One week on the beautiful island La Palma.

We really enjoyed the view from our spacious balcony. I choosed Hotel Sol La Pamla because it is located by the best beach in the west coast which has more sunshine hours than the east coast. The hotel has its own observatory, so do not miss to book time if you are interested in star-gazing.

Thanks Pedro, Guest Coordinator of the hotel, for nice and quick communication and for arrangement of the taxi from the airport.

Thanks Rosie, receptionist of Natour office in Puerto Naos, for your sweet smile and kind manner to help your clients finding the best suitable hikes. http://www.natour-lapalma.com/

Thanks Bernd, experienced hiker from Germany, for a very pleasent south-trip with many highlights. The salt factory, the big waves, the San Antonio volcano, the little hike by the beach.

Thanks Peter, the German instructor who has been paragliding for 27 years, for a wonderful tandemflight. You give people the opportunity of an otherwise unpossible experience, while you do what you like. http://www.palmaclub.com/

Thanks Yvan, Natour guide of The Caldera de Taburiente, for your glad leading, pedagogical speaking and helping hands.

Thanks my son, for your pleasant company among the banana plants, to the village, to the beach, in the caldera, in the waves, etc.

We could have seen more blue sky if not the sand-wind from Sahara also visited the Canary islands. But now I have learnt a new word, Calima. A tip for you who are going to La Palma for hiking in winter is to enquiry Natour about the weather/temperature on the mountains. It can snow on the mountain tops.

My dearest

Thanks my dearest son for tipsing about "Holes" by Louis Sachar. The words I got from the book are "Nothing in life is easy. But that's no reason to give up. You'll be surprised what you can accomplish if you set your mind to it. After all, you only have one life, so you should try to make the most of it. "

I am happy that we are good, honest and glad, that we take care about health and help others. I am glad that we have high stridsvärde and we improve ourselves continuously. I still think it's good to reflect on the following things regularly.

* 爱惜身体. Take care health. (Body and mental)
* 诚实善良Honest and good.
* 分清好坏. Distinguish good and bad. Do things our future thank us for.
* 分清主次. Prioritize.
* 不拖拉. Do not delay. Take action.
* 做到最好. Do our best. (Positive, flexibel, don´t give up. Good plan, many solutions)
* 爱干净. Purify our hearts, clean our rooms and everything else.
* 不浪费. Do not waste.
* 帮助别人. Help others.

My son my friend. Let's train our special muscles of self-control together. What is self-control? It is the ability of our future selves to control our current selves. :-)

Step by step

Yes, I was there. I was listening to the Nobel Lectures in Physics, in Chemistry and in Economic Sciences. I knew that I could not understand all the lectures, but I was happy to be immersed in the Nobel atmosphere. http://www.kva.se/

If you only want to watch the recorded lectures in one area, look at the Nobel Lectures in Chemistry.

If you just want to watch two lectures, I recommend "The Art of Building Small, from molecular switches to motors" by Bernard L. Feringa (Nobel Lectures in Chemistry, start from 1:14:00, duration 30 minutes) and "Incomplete Contracts and Control" by Oliver Harts (Nobel Lectures in Economic Sciences, start from 0:2:30, duration 30 minuts).

Probably most of us are not like the genius Bernard L. Feringeado and do not have the ambition to build molecular machines, but possibly many of us would like to get payed when we do things we like, somehow as a personal trainer or Yoga coach?

Which kinds of work do you like? Are you good at doing them? Can you get payed for one or some of them? Step by step we can first find out, then dare to try, and then get payed for doing things we really like. :-)

En förmån

Vi som bor i Sverige och särskilt vi som bor i Stockholm har en väldig förmån. Vi behöver inte resa runt halva jorden för att kunna se Nobelpristagare och kunna höra deras Nobelföreläsningar. Tack Gud. Tack Stockholms universitet.
